CEO: Newmont Curtailing Costs; Akyem On Track For Production In Late 2013

(Kitco News) - The new chief executive of Newmont Mining Corp. (NEM) says the company is continuing efforts to curtail costs and has reduced consolidated spending in the first quarter by 13% from the same period a year ago.
